Jamie Andrew Kirsch is the Music Director of the Cambridge Community Chorus. He is also the Director of Children's Choruses at New England Conservatory, Director of Choral Music at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in Sudbury, MA, and Musical Director for South Shore Summer Theater in Scituate, MA.
From 2006-08 he served on the faculty of the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, where he was Interim Director of Choral Activities (2007-08). Performances at Vanderbilt included Brahms' Requiem, Terry Riley's Sun Rings with the Kronos Quartet, and Schoenberg's Friede auf Erden.
From 2003-06 he served as an Associate Instructor in the Choral Conducting department at Indiana University.
A native of Long Island, Kirsch moved to Somerville in May 2008 with his wife Diana Lemly, a resident in Medicine and Pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital.
B.M. with Honors (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill); M.M. in Choral Conducting (Yale School of Music); D.M. in Choral Conducting (Indiana University Jacobs School of Music). Conducting studies with Jan Harrington, John Poole, Marguerite Brooks, and Susan Klebanow.
